Before I delve into the final installment of this week-long saga, I wanted to mention a remarkable bit of corroboration I received about the forecast for a “Tower” event on September 29th. As I usually do at lunar phase changes, I went back and examined the Lunar Month Look-ahead reading I did on September 23rd (one day before laying out the weekly blueprint), and found that I had written the following about the First Quarter Moon at the end of the month.
“The First Quarter Moon (September 28 – October 2) in Capricorn holds the 5 of Wands reversed, and some simmering antagonism may erupt out of the background. Perhaps someone will be offended but won’t own up to it, or circumstances will become difficult to manage. Astrological squares are times of stress, so the traditional meaning of this card (“Strife”) is not out-of-line with that expectation. A disagreement may shatter the peace, and there could be a brief interlude of chaotic adjustment.”
This is exactly what happened on Friday, and the literal “adjustment” shown by Saturday’s “background” card is still in progress. I will be immodest and say that, from a predictive accuracy standpoint, it doesn’t get any better than this. I’ll add that it’s a humbling experience to have the Universe speak to me so plainly.
The “action” card for today is the 2 of Wands (Dominion, Mars in Aries).

At first I was convinced that the Emperor reversed as the “background” influence for today meant “pulling in one’s horns” and “licking one’s wounds” in the aftermath of the Tower event and subsequent adjustment. But the 2 of Wands gives the lie to that, saying “move right on with confidence that the action was the right one.”
It’s interesting that this card in the RWS deck implies hesitation and deliberation. The man in the scene has one foot in the past and one in the future, and is contemplating where to make his next move. There is no such ambivalence in the Thoth universe. Crowley says simply that the Lord of Dominion “represents the energy of fire; fire in its best and highest form.” He elaborates later by adding “destruction may be regarded as the first step in the creative process. Fear and repulsion are therefore the primary reaction to the assault. Then, with understanding of the complete plan, willing surrender rejoices to cooperate.”
It’s a little too soon to anticipate any kind of surrender, but the healing of bruised egos – even if this card suggests cauterizing and not salving – in the near term is a distinct possibility once the Emperor finds his way again. The double dose of guileless Aries energy permits no hidden agendas; as the old computer programming geeks used to say, here we have an example of WYSIWYG: “What you see is what you get.” It will be very interesting to see what the new week brings.
This concludes my experimental analysis of the events of the week. I’m satisfied that this enhanced approach to daily draws is an effective one that I’ll continue with, even though I won’t post the results here. One thing for sure is that I won’t fail to consider the lunar phase testimony when I work my way through the weekly situational blueprint.
